What you will learn

This is not choreography — it is a small set of high-percentage judo and jiu-jitsu responses drilled until they hold up under stress: how to fall without injury, break a grip, escape a hold, control an aggressor and create space to leave.

  • Breakfalls and getting up safely
  • Grip breaks and wrist escapes
  • Escapes from grabs, holds and pins
  • Distance management and verbal boundaries
  • Scenario drills with padded, resisting partners

Common questions

Do I need to be fit or experienced?

No. Techniques rely on leverage, not strength, and every drill scales to your pace. Many students start with zero training.

Will I get hurt in scenario drills?

Partners wear padding, contact is controlled, and you can pause any drill at any time. Safety briefings open every session.

What should I wear?

Athletic wear with no zippers or jewelry. Gis are available to borrow for the full course.

Is there an age limit?

The adult course is 14 and up; younger students join the Judo for Kids program instead.
